Running is a great way to meet people and keep fit at the same time. An exciting new development is the introduction of the Varsity College Athletics Club that will launch in KZN and expand to all the other provinces. The club will cater for a variety of disciplines namely, road running, trail running, track, field and cross country. Many of the campuses Sports Clubs use the running club sessions as their own fitness sessions. Trail running offers students the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful landscapes, and the newly developed eco trail based on the Westville campus is an example of this. Experienced and social runners (both road and trail) are encouraged to join the VC Running Club on STRAVA, the online mobile fitness tracking app, where you can compete against members from your own campus club or with students from around the country. For the students that are track and field specialists, the VC Athletics Club now provides them with an opportunity to compete in VC colours at all ASA events in addition to the annual USSA athletics championships held in April each year.
