The IIE has strengthened its partnership with the UK-based Open University (OU) through a collaboration that changes the way students access distance learning opportunities in South Africa and the rest of the continent.

The OU is a world leader in modern distance learning and the largest and only distance education institution in the UK. It is a pioneer of technology-enhanced learning methods, enabling people to achieve their career and life goals, studying at times and in places that suit them.

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is the foremost accountancy body in South Africa and one of the leading institutes in the world. It plays an influential role in a highly dynamic business sector. SAICA grants accreditation of programmes that lead to the qualification of Chartered Accountants in South Africa through a process of academic review, which comprises the accreditation and monitoring of education programmes leading to SAICA’s qualifications. Academic review is underpinned by the philosophy that the process is a partnership between the education provider and SAICA. In November 2016, SAICA accredited The IIE’s Bachelor of Accounting degree.

The Business School

The Business SchoolBorn of a need in South Africa for top level tertiary education for working adults, The Business School at Varsity College plays a fundamental role in developing the next generation of South African business leaders. IIE short learning programmes are offered at the Business School at Varsity College and are geared towards those who are already engaged in the working world and are therefore unable to attend full-time studies.
