“When applying for your first job, do not allow interviews that do not go your way to get to you. The time will come when you find the job that is perfect for you”, says Jason Hammond, Marketing Administrator of Blueport and IIE Varsity College graduate.
Jason Hammond recently graduated with an IIE Bachelor of Commerce with Financial Management as a core discipline.
His greatest achievement to date? Proudly his first pay check. The Career Centre at the Varsity College Cape Town campus assisted Jason with finding his job, and, according to Jason, helped him ‘land’ it by putting in some good words for him in the process. This is the first step to Jason’s dream, which is working for a large marketing company where he is looking forward to applying the knowledge he acquired while completing his degree.
Jason’s daily tasks include: campaign selections, using Excel to jot down performance of the company and different campaigns as well as making sure that the clients receive their invoices. He also plans campaigns once a month, creates list schedules and marketing statistics.
Jason hopes to one day join the fast paced marketing industry in an overseas corporation.
