1.How would you describe your career journey from Varsity College to your current role?

Insightful is the word I would use to describe the journey. I have found success in employment is as much about your attitude as it is about education. Always be willing to learn new things, take calculated risks and foster strong relationships with people.

2.How did your Varsity College experience help shape your success? / How did the education you received, help you get to where you are now?

My degree was in Strategic Business Management, this laid the groundwork for my business career as it allowed me to critically analyse operational and structural inefficiencies in businesses. I started as a Buyer for an asset management company and used that opportunity to learn as much as I could about the FMCG industry.

3.What advice would you give current Varsity College students interested in your field?

Don’t be afraid to take risks, the worst answer you can get is no. Stay motivated and focus on your most value adding traits.

4.How did the education you received, help you get to where you are now?

The education I received allowed me to identify skill gaps in industries. I was able to pursue these gaps and ultimately secure a Brand Specialist role at Amazon in their UK headquarters.

5.What are some of your fondest memories from your time at Varsity College?

The work hard but play hard attitude. VC always encouraged the best of their students, but they did reward us with numerous social events which allowed us to network and meet other VC students.

6.Last but definitely not least, any words of encouragement for those still studying, in light of the current state of the world?

Make an effort to do the things that you enjoy, instead of being lazy about it. Life is worth the hassle
