Foods That Beat Fatigue

Our lives are full of daily stresses that can really drain us of our energy and productivity. Maybe you’ve been studying hard towards an IIE Bachelor of Commerce Honours or you’ve been working part-time whilst you acquire your chosen degree. With so much on the go, it’s common to feel some fatigue. We all know it as that feeling of exhaustion that pops up whenever there’s too much on your plate. Not to worry though, it’s completely normal. A large part of business management and business leadership lies in knowing how to deal with fatigue when it strikes.

Don’t let fatigue stand in the way of you getting good results in your IIE Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree studies. Believe it or not, there are several foods that we can incorporate into our daily diets that naturally counteract feelings of fatigue. Why not lessen your chances of feeling it by snacking on or drinking some of the below.

Choose unprocessed foods

There’s a time and a place for fast foods, but when you’re feeling sluggish or fighting brain fog, eating junk will only worsen your symptoms and further slow you down. We suggest going for options that are as close to their natural state as possible. Think healthy salads, nutritious wraps or even good old fashion fruit. You’ll be amazed at how much more energised you feel.

Limit your caffeine

It’s funny how we reach for coffee and energy drinks when our levels are low. Although these can help make us feel more alert, this is only temporary and these don’t actually give the body energy. If you’re resorting to these to get your boost, you should know that you’re bound to feel even worse when they wear off. This could leave you feeling even more run down. We suggest decaffeinated coffee and water with pieces of fruit in for hydration. Sugar, artificial sweeteners and caffeine are a combination that doesn’t bode well for those dealing with fatigue.

Sneak in some nuts and seeds

These are a great way to give the body a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals, whilst staving off hunger and providing energy. By adding nuts and seeds to your salads, wraps and smoothies, you can get all the benefits associated with these nutritional powerhouses. We suggest almonds, cashews, pecans, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. If you really want to get your fix, use them to make some energy balls with some raw honey and unsweetened peanut butter. These make a great snack when you’re peckish or when your sweet tooth strikes.

What you put in is what you’ll always get out

Yes, this is true when it comes to your body but the same can be said for your future. By choosing a degree that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you’ll possess a coveted new world thinking that every employer is looking for.
