PRINCESSES FOR A DAY WITH MISS SA

PRINCESSES FOR A DAY WITH MISS SA

Twelve girls, aged between 6 and 14, from Afrika Tikkun, an outreach programme based in Alexandra Township, received a once in lifetime opportunity to spend an afternoon with Miss South Africa 2014, Rolene Strauss during Varsity College Sandton’s recent annual Princess for a Day event.

‘We wanted to show the girls that they are special and created for a purpose. The day was really aimed at pampering and spoiling these beautiful and wonderfully talented girls. We hope that Miss South Africa inspired them and that they will know that they can be whatever they dream of”, said Varsity College Sandton Student Relations Manager Vasanthee Govender.

The girls enjoyed the unforgettable experience of being pampered by Miss South Africa and Varsity College’s student volunteer body, VC Cares. This included receiving a mini-facial and manicure. Strauss also gave the girls a “princess lesson”, where she taught them to walk and feel confident like princesses.  Afterwards, it was the little princesses’ turn to demonstrate their modelling abilities before being sashed, and crowned “Princess for a Day” by Strauss.  She also honoured each girl with a glittering princess wand.
