FIRST ANNUAL GRADUATE EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP


The Varsity College Westville campus is gearing up for the first annual Graduate Empowerment Workshop which will be hosted by the Alumni department on Thursday, 26 March from 9am to 3pm.

“The aim of the Graduate Empowerment Workshop is to equip our recently qualified graduates with the necessary practical work readiness skills needed to enter the job market,” says Andrea van den Berg, National Alumni Co-ordinator at Varsity College.

During the workshop, attendees will engage in a number of activities and sessions which will be hosted by corporates and industry specialists. “Staying motivated during the job search, improving self-esteem and confidence are just some of the topics that will be covered. Other topics include; building a personal brand, dressing for success, goal setting as well as developing a job search action plan,” explains Andrea.

A number of recruitment specialists have been invited to conduct practical mock interviews with the graduates. The recruiters include; Sally Ingham & Associates, Bradshaw LeRoux Recruitment and Assessment Specialists, RCL Group as well as PRO Appointments.

“We are thrilled that so many corporates and industry specialists have agreed to participate and to facilitate the workshop sessions,” adds Andrea.

The Varsity College Alumni community is growing and developing daily. Many exciting projects have been planned and will be rolled out later in 2015.
