Together with the IIE, Varsity College constantly evaluates its programme offerings. This is to ensure that they remain current, relevant and in line with local and global standards, trends and best practice. We would like to inform you of the most recent developments.
Post Graduate Degrees
Currently, we offer support to the post graduate UNISA degrees in Accounting Science and Psychology.
In order to extend this offering we be launching the UNISA BCom Honours in Business Management in 2013.
This exciting programme will allow students aspiring towards a career in Business Management to further their studies, and also allows our current UNISA BCom students an option to enrol for tuition in this UNISA Honours programme at Varsity College.
In addition to the above degree, we will also be launching two post graduate programmes from the IMM Graduate School of Marketing.
Firstly the B.Phil Honours in Marketing Management will allow students who have studied marketing in their undergraduate qualification to further their studies in this exciting field. The second post graduate launch is that of the Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, allowing students with no marketing background in their undergraduate degree to achieve a qualification in mark
Independent Institute of Education (IIE) Qualifications
We have worked very closely with the IIE in the design, structure and development of various degrees, diplomas and higher certificates.
We are enormously proud to announce that Varsity College will be offering the following programmes from 2013.
The IIE BBA degree in Hospitality Management
Our fourteen-year journey to this point has included collaborating with the International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) in Adelaide, Australia. We are delighted to announce that we are now able to offer our own fully accredited 3 year degree programme in hospitality, one of only 3 in the country. We will definitely continue our relationship with the ICHM and discussions will start shortly around the definition of this relationship into the future.
As we offer more IIE degree programmes the need arises to offer access programmes into these degrees for students who may have not have achieved the entrance requirement at school level. Not only do these programmes offer credit for some modules into subsequent programmes, but they provide options for students who want to study a CHE accredited programme in a year.
To this end Varsity College will, from 2013, offer the following IIE Higher Certificates.
The IIE Higher Certificate in Event Management
South Africa finds itself more and more on the world stage, hosting a variety of global events as well as more standard functions such as conferences and weddings. This makes event management an exciting opportunity we are pleased to be able to cater to specifically.
The IIE Higher Certificate in IT Support Services
This certificate offers students the opportunity to enter the rapidly changing and lucrative field of IT support after one year. It also allows the opportunity to access our two existing IT qualifications (Network Management and Software Development) with credit for some of the subjects they have studied in the Higher Certificate.
We are confident that the quality and relevance of these programmes will not only take our qualifications to the next level, but also our student’s experience, their employability and career opportunities.
