Varsity College makes the world a global village

We are proud to announce that Varsity College, an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (IIE), is officially an Open University (OU) partner institution.

What does this mean for our students? It means that the IIE’s brand new Bachelor  of Corporate Communications (BACC) has been recognised and approved by the Open University (based in the United Kingdom) to carry exemption for 240 credits towards the OU Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Open Degrees, with Honours. Thus, students completing the IIE BACC degree will have the opportunity to continue studying and articulate their degree into an internationally recognised UK Honours degree.

Earlier this year, the IIE’s Bachelor of Arts Degree in Corporate Communication (BACC) was accredited by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) at level 7 on the South African Qualifications Framework .

Now, through the Open University association, OU recognises The Independent Institute of Education as a degree-awarding institution and approved the newly accredited IIE BACC degree offered at Varsity College. The Open University is a world leader in modern distance learning methods, enabling people to achieve their career and life goals. It is the largest University in the United Kingdom with over 250 000 students, including 60 000 international students. The brand association aligns with Varsity College’s commitment to teaching excellence and an authentic, modern, blended learning experience for our students.
