Walking the Talk and Twittering Through Up-to-Date Technology
You are now able to access the most up-to-date information and about Varsity College’s seven campuses through our new comprehensive, easy and ‘quick- to- navigate’ website, the first phase of which has just been launched. The Content Management System (CMS) used to update the site as and when required, is ensuring that you have access to the most recent information. The second phase of the new website is near completion and is expected to go ‘live’ within the next few months.
The content of the website has been grown to include additional features such as, among others, ‘Prospective students’, ‘VC success stories’, ‘VC news’ and ‘VC Sponsorships’ – information from which current and prospective students and their parents will benefit. The content is not just developed to keep our current students informed, but also to help prospective students with the important decision of where to study towards their tertiary qualification.
The very successful Varsity College mobi-site is currently undergoing a facelift, which includes updated VC information, the introduction of cool student links, free wallpaper downloads and much much more.
Another dynamic technological step taken by Varsity College recently is that of entering the social networking realm of Facebook and Twitter.
Says Simon Nicolson, Marketing Manager of Varsity College: “Varsity College want to ‘walk’ its philosophy of communicating with its students via means that they understand and are receptive to. We thus felt it necessary to not only ‘revamp’ our website, but also to get active in the Social Networking realm by having a presence on Facebook and Twitter“.
Facebook is an ideal portal for anyone to access the latest campus highlights, which could include news, updates on campus events, etc.
With the phenomenal growth (752% in 2008), having a presence on Twitter was inevitable. Snippets of information relevant to all the campuses will be available on this dynamic micro blogging service, which is enjoying the attention of over 6 million global users.
