What entry requirements will I need to study this Degree?

To be registered as a candidate for a BCompt Degree you must have satisfied the admission requirements set out in the myChoice UNISA information brochure. The following is a guide:
1. National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to Bachelor’s Degree
2. Senior Certificate with Endorsement/ Exemption; or
3. Qualify for Conditional Exemption (students with foreign school leaving qualifications, students older than 23 years of age or older than 45 year of age).  These students are required to have their school leaving qualifications evaluated by HESA / matriculation board prior to registration with UNISA and Varsity College.  Students need to complete the M30 form available in the myChoice UNISA information brochure and submit it to HESA together with the relevant documentation as stipulated on the form.
4. If you are a foreign student, you must ensure that you have a valid study permit issued in the name of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) that covers the duration of the qualification.

UNISA has indicated the following additional admission requirements for students wishing to study the BCompt Degree:

• Students with the National Senior Certificate (NSC) must have an NSC achievement rating of at least 4 (50-59%) for Mathematics or 7 (80-89%) for Mathematical Literacy, or
• Students with a Senior Certificate must have passed MATHEMATICS at Matric level with at least 40% on Higher Grade or at least 50% on Standard Grade, or
• An equivalent examination in Mathematics
• Alternatively, candidates must have passed at least DSC1520 or one module in Statistics or Mathematics 1 (excluding MAT011) for the BCom Degree or another Degree or for non-Degree purposes (NDP) before they will be allowed to register for any modules on second-year level towards the BCompt Degree.
